Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel
27 Via M. del Carmine, Montelepre
At the end of the village there was a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, on whose altar the effigy of the Virgin was painted.
The discovery of this image is thus narrated: "Near the village there was a stream where women went to wash clothes.
At one point those women began to be harassed by the throwing of stones that was not clear where they came from.
After research, it was discovered that the stones came from the thick hedge.
There they found a large boulder on which the image of the Madonna del Carmelo was painted ".
The church of the Madonna del Carmine was built in 1819 by the will of a landowner, Salvatore Candela.
It has a single nave and is adorned with several works, including the statue of the Madonna with Jesus signed by Girolamo Bagnasco.
