Church of San Giuseppe

17 Piazza Regina Elena, Montelepre

Location

The current church of San Giuseppe built in the second decade of the eighteenth century, initially dedicated to Anime Sante, was born as an aggregate district chapel.

From the second half of the eighteenth century the first crypts arose.

At the end of the 18th century, other chapels were built by the benefactor Castrense Di Bella, who reserved the right of burial within the ecclesiastical site.

To indicate the presence of the spoils of the Di Bella spouses at the entrance to the Church are their marble busts.

The structure inside is a Latin cross with three naves and in the apse there are three wooden statues depicting the Holy Family.

The exterior of the building has a simple façade crowned by a loggia that houses four still functioning bells.
